PECO Pallet Wins Green 75 Recognition for 2023 from Inbound Logistics

National pallet rental company recognized for culture of sustainability, responsible use policies and practices, active recycling programs for pallets to minimize landfill waste.

Itasca, IL – June 16, 2023 — PECO Pallet, Inc. (PECO) has been recognized for its environmental stewardship and sustainability practices, today named by Inbound Logistics magazine as a Green 75 awardee for 2023.

A recognized market leader providing quality editorial coverage of logistics and supply chain issues, Inbound Logistics editors conduct an annual evaluation of hundreds of nominated firms, ultimately selecting the “best of the best” for Green 75 recognition.

Felecia Stratton, the magazine’s editor, noted that “these 75 companies go above and beyond to actively promote and engage in green initiatives, delivering results that help global supply chains become more sustainable. These firms demonstrate and deploy best practices that conserve resources, protect the environment, reduce waste, and lead to meaningful sustainability achievements that leave a positive footprint on the world.”

PECO operates some 90 pallet depots throughout North America, managing an inventory of over 20 million of its high quality, 9-block signature red pallets. The nation’s second largest pallet rental pool operator, PECO has incorporated into its operating procedures sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives, responsible use policies, conservation of natural resources, recycling of wood, metal, plastic and cardboard materials, and actively reducing the waste stream, noted Joe Dagnese, PECO’s chief executive.

“We emphasize green initiatives because they are excellent, strategic business practices as well as being good for the environment,” Dagnese said. “By focusing on effective repair and refurbishing of pallets, aggressive recycling, composting wood waste material, landfill diversion and network optimization, we are helping preserve natural resources while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”

PECO’s network supports businesses with high-quality, durable and reliable wooden pallets which are utilized throughout the supply chains of thousands of America’s businesses, including big-box retailers, club stores, consumer products, beverage, grocery, and other food-related enterprises to ship goods. The company’s signature red pallets play a critical role in the supply chain; pallets are the primary platform on which businesses stack, secure and ship products of all types in trucks, intermodal rail containers and other conveyance vehicles.
PECO works with nearly 100 independent truckload carriers to fulfill and deliver pallet orders to manufacturers, as well as recovery and return of pallets from retailers and distributors to its depots. The full Green 75 list can be viewed here.
